In this blog, I plan to document every single day of this journey with pictures, learnings, findings, my homemade recipes, what I did in addition to juicing for the day, as well as a lot of motivational things I plan to read everyday to keep me going.
This 2 day weekend I plan to prep for the juice fast that starts on Monday. You will basically need a few things to start this diet:
1) A juicer (you can buy one from Amazon or just about anywhere else). I have the Breville BJE200XL Compact Juice Fountain 700-Watt Juice Extractor. I got a used one from a colleague at work for $45, but these one of the cheapest ones you can find out there.
2) Fruits and vegetables. I prefer to buy them organic from the Farmer's market every Tuesday and Saturday. But Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, PCC, and your local grocery stores would carry everything as well. Easy to find!
3) An hour a day for chopping up your fresh fruits and veggies and juicing it up!
That's all you need!
What really motivated me to get on this journey is watching the 2 videos: Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead Part 1 and 2 by Joe Cross. I stepped on this documentary by accident and it was interesting to watch how people not only got lean and in perfect shape, but also had their overall health improve so much that they could get off all medication and live a healthy life. My sedentary everyday life at the desk has really gotten to me over the years and has made me the kind of person that gets tired easily, wants to sleep any chance they get (mostly because I do not get enough time to sleep), and had just not been getting the nutrients and veggies in my everyday diet. So I am taking this up as a plan to change that for the better. I am 31, so at that point in my life where my metabolism is starting to slow down and my responsibilities are increasing with each passing day. So now is a great time for me to reset my body to perform at its optimum and be strong and beautiful for decades to come!
Tomorrow, I will post about everything I do to get ready for Monday, the 31st of August. I will be purchasing all my fruits and veggies for atleast 3 days, and of course preparing all the juices for Monday. I will make sure to post the things I get as well as my total cost for them, and the recipes for the juices I prepare tomorrow. :-). Happy Saturday everyone!
