Day 9! How are we doing? This is going to be a short post as not much has changed in the last few days except I have lost 2 pounds. I still need to put in a lot more excercise but my energy levels just aren't there yet. Going to be sticking to cantaloupe and carrots mixed juice for the first half of the day tomorrow, followed by green juices for the rest of the day! Inspiration is definitely not easy to come by, so whenever you feel lost, reach out to me, and I would love to help you stay organized on your goals! Remember, it will all be worth it in the end! <3. Day 7 of the Juice Diet! How are you feeling? My week has gone by pretty quickly due to an excessive amount of work but my body feels wonderful! I am 8 pounds down as of Day 7, which is a lot less than I expected. However, I can't blame anything because I did not drink as much juice as I should have, skipped on a lot of glasses of water, didn't workout enough, nor got enough sleep. So we only get what we work for, right? So the next 9 days is going to be fitness hibernation! I will still continue going to work and doing my best at everything I do, but I will also be getting a lot of workouts in (2 hours everyday minimum) - 1.5 hours cardio, 30 minutes weights. I am committing to drinking at least 4 glasses of juice a day and 8 to 10 glasses of water. With this crazy regimen, I truly want to see how much my body is truly capable of losing in a 9 day timeframe if I put it through the rigorous regimen I am planning to. Some excercise options for the next 9 days: Gym: 1.5 hours cardio 30 minutes weights (however heavy you can handle) 10-15 minutes sauna if at all possible. If no Gym: Option 1: Walk for 1 mile 20 minute at home workout videos from YouTube (light aerobics is fine) Option 2: Walk for 2 miles or run for 1 mile Get 8 hours of sleep. Have 1 pure fruit juice in the morning but the remaining 3 juices of the day - make sure you include atleast 50 per cent greens. One of my biggest accomplishments of the past week aside from the diet was that I ignored everyone and everything that was negative or created any conflict in my life. I controlled my need to respond to everything that happens around me, and stayed calm and let situations play out on its own. That has truly helped me. I feel a lot more at peace and unbothered by negative people and situations. I felt more connected with my inner self and realized that nothing or no one is worth sacrificing your inner peace for. Let go of the moment, because the only thing you really have any control over is yourself. Think happy thoughts and just love yourself. Let everything else around you crash and burn. Just find peace within yourself, and you will be able to attract that peace in your surroundings. New posts coming up everyday for the next 9 days! Stay tuned in. :-) Lots of love, Nisha Ready for Day 6?! Sorry I was gone yesterday! I had a huge project for work yesterday that kept me extremely busy. I did not get as much juice in as I'd like to! I have been feeling a little tired, but that is mainly because of lack of sleep, not enough water, and not enough juice. I am so going to fix that tomorrow! Day 6 - Let's bring it on. Tomorrow morning, I will post fresh recipes for the weekend as well as plans and other things critical to being successful in the diet! We are almost one week in!. Excited to weight myself in again on Sunday morning. :-) Have a great night everyone. Nisha The one thing that a juice diet lacks is protein, at least in the amounts that our bodies need. Since most of us are not used to having only greens in our juices, the content of protein in it can be a little less. That's why Team Juicy 30 came up with this delicious recipe, which although it is a vegetable juice - it is really a smoothie without the dairy! Ingredients: 6 tablespoons of Hemp seeds 2 tablespoons of Chia seeds 1 medium Papaya 2 bananas 2 carrots 1 medium head of Cauliflower (very high in Protein and Vitamin A and C). 1 cup of coconut water Extremely rich in nutrients and very delicious and satisfying smoothie! Recipe: - Soak Chia seeds and Hemp Seeds in Coconut water until the water gets a milky consistency and the Chia absorbs the coconut water, puffs up and turns whitish. - Juice the carrots and cauliflower. Add soaked seeds and coconut water. - Combine all ingredients in a blender with chopped bananas and papaya. - Blend until Creamy. - Chill and Enjoy! If the consistency comes out too thick, add more coconut water and blend till the consistency is to your liking! - Also makes for a great, creamy dessert. :-) Replace those ice creams! Day 3 is finally over! As of this morning I had lost another 1.8 pounds, making my weight loss so far 4.8 pounds in 2 days! It has been a little more tiring than Day 2. Some headaches, but those went away with drinking lots of water. I am still working on getting completely used to 'drinking' my greens. Greens are the most healthy, important part but for most of us it takes a little while to get to the point where we really enjoy it. My friends bring really delicious lunches and those are very hard to resist! So on weekdays this is more of a challenge than on weekends. I drank about 3 jars of juices today, out of which 1 was purely fruit. For Day 3, there will be 2 fruit juices and 2 veggie juices. For the veggie juice - Black Kale also known as Dinosaur or Tuscan Kale/ Spinach, Dandelion Greens/ or any other green leafy vegetable like Spinach, Cilantro, Apples, and Cantaloupe. For the 2nd juice (I like to call this the Sunrise juice)- Black Grapes, Strawberries, Carrots, and Oranges (deliciousness!!!). I will be posting another recipe for a very special protein drink that can be made at home in a few hours because many juice diets lack protein. Check it out shortly on this page! So the wonderful surprise this morning was that I had lost 3 pounds just after Day 1! Needless to say, I am super happy. However, I do know that much of this is water weight, but hey I will take that! I am really excited to see how much I end up losing in the first 7 days! That being said, I feel wonderful and cleansed in my stomach which is a great feeling. It's as if my body is getting some rest and enjoying the lightness of the whole thing. Day 2 has been a little rocky so far. I did manage to drink my morning juice, but forgot to carry my afternoon and evening juices for lunch. So I did end up having to sneak in a cup of coffee ( :-(). However, I plan to make up for this by ensuring I take the fruit juices once I get home tonight and trying to get a 30 minute walk or workout in! Tomorrow's plan will be posted on this blog tonight! Chin up, be strong. We can do this together. Nisha Day 2 just ended, and Day 3 is ready for us! My Day 2 has been interesting. Way more hunger pangs and more temptation than Day 2, and I did end up having a cup of coffee but the rest of the day's diet went pretty well. I was only able to drink 3 jars of juice today and just felt full with it. I drank less than my needed amount of water today which isn't good but I will make up for it tomorrow. Whenever I lose motivation I think of the many of us out there who are doing this with me, and that gives me tremendous strength! Needless to say, I have lots of leftover fruit juices from today, so tomorrow morning I plan to quickly make some Kale Juice and blend with cantaloupe, watermelon, and ginger and drink that all day. That's the plan for Day 3 - Kale, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, and Ginger. If needed, have atleast one jar of just fruit juice, but remember that the goal is to increase the vegetable intake and reduce the fruit intake as we progress with this. A lot of fruit is just sugar, whereas the real nutrients come from the greens. Also because vegetables do not have as much sugar, they will help you lose weight more easily. I am really excited to see how this goes and what the results at the end of 30 days would be! Here's to another wonderful day! Let me know how many pounds each of you lost! I lost 3 pounds after Day 1. Excited to see what the scale says tomorrow! Much love and hugs, Nisha Day 1 is finally over! It has been fantastic except for a few food cravings since I have cooking a delicious dinner for Nathan! Time for Day 2! Recipes for Tomorrow: 1) The MegaMelon! Ingredients: 1 watermelon 2 cantaloupes Recipe: Juice them all up and drink no more than 2 jars. Chilled. 2) Peachie Greens Ingredients: 4 peaches or 2 large mangoes 1 bunch kale or spinach 1 small piece ginger 1 cantaloupe 1 bunch cilantro or parsley A hint of Lime You can add more greens if you like! If you can handle a more bitter taste. Recipe: Juice it up and gulp down 3 jars a day! Remember, at least 8 glasses of water a day! Try to walk a mile as well if possible. Lots of love and good luck, Nisha |
